Visit the Farmer's Market on 3rd and Fairfax in Los Angeles

If you are visiting Los Angeles for the day and want something interesting to do, why not visit the Farmer's Market? It's historic, and it offers exclusive places to eat, shop for food, and just plain o'l shop!

At the Farmer's Market, you'll find all kinds of fast food places, as well as a couple of restaurants. Dupar's is there, along with Johnny Rocket's. Loteria Grill is there, too, along with The French Crepe Company. Chipotle has a location there, as does Starbucks. There are also many famous, long-time food tenants there. You want old-fashioned ice cream? They've got it. There's also a donut shop.

Next to Farmer's Market is The Grove, a beautiful outdoor mall, with great architecture, lighting, fountains, music and beautiful people. Seriously, go there sometime and just look at the people- they are all dressed so nice, and walking around looking good and enjoying themselves. The Grove is a great place to hang out, dine, see a movie, or shop. They have an Apple Store right there!

The Grove has its own parking lot, in a structure, separate from Farmer's Market. Farmer's Market's parking is flat and not in a structure. Farmer's Market stores, shops and restaurants will not validate parking for The Grove, and The Grove's tenants will not validate for Farmer's Market. Getting your ticket validated at either one of these places is easy, though- just go into one of the shops and ask. I believe that you have 2 hours of free parking with validation for either place.

An Interesting Charity- Heifer International

I recently discovered an interesting charity, called Heifer International. To try to exactly here would not do them justice, so please visit www.heifer.org/gift to see what it's all about. In a nutshell, you can see what your money is going towards purchasing in the countries where they help. For example, you could put a $10 share down toward the purchase of a sheep (which costs $120). It's really interesting! I found out about them when they mailed me a catalog.

Got Rewards Cards?

If you shop at a grocery store that has a rewards program, you are really cheating yourself out of a lot of money if you don't join their free rewards program! It only takes a couple of minutes to sign up at the grocery store, and over the long run, you will save a bundle!

Last night, I went to Ralphs Grocery Store (owned by Kroger) and my total bill for 25 items sold was $44.14. My verified savings, with the Ralphs Rewards card, coupons, and bonus coupons, was $23.16. That means that I saved over one-third of the normal total!

The moral: bring those grocery coupons, and shop at your store with their Rewards program! In Los Angeles, other stores that have rewards are: Vons/Pavillions, Walgreens, Staples, Office Depot, and Smart and Final. Other stores have them, too, so look out for them!
